Diamond painting is a fun and creative hobby that allows you to transform tiny diamond-like gems into a colorful, three-dimensional artwork. It’s similar to cross-stitch and paint-by-numbers, but it offers more of a DIY feel. It’s also a great activity for beginners and people who struggle with other crafts.

Getting Started With Diamond Painting

The first thing you need to do is get your diamond painting supplies. These include a canvas, a diamond pen, and a pack of diamonds. You can find these items at any craft store or online. Make sure you choose a kit that comes with everything you need so you won’t have to buy anything extra later.

Picking a First Project

To get started, pick a diamond painting that is a good size for your skill level. The best way to know if you’ll enjoy diamond painting is to start small. This will allow you to test out the process before investing in a bigger project.

If you’re a beginner, we recommend selecting a canvas that is 30x40cm or smaller, as larger canvases take more time to complete. However, if you’re looking for a challenge or want to try out a new style of diamond painting, you can opt for a larger canvas.

Use a Single Placer or Multiplace Tool

To start your diamond painting, peel back the protective film on your canvas and select the section you want to work on. You can work on one area at a time and then move to the next or you can cut out sections of the protective film to work on different areas during the day, depending on how much time you have.

Once you’ve selected your diamond painting section, line up the diamonds with the tweezer and gently press them onto the canvas. Be sure to leave a bit of space between the diamonds so they won’t stick together. This helps to create a semblance of a grid pattern.

Don’t worry if you have to break your diamond painting session up; the process is surprisingly relaxing and therapeutic. You can enter a meditative state as you place each diamond by hand. It’s a wonderful way to relax and unwind, and many people find it more therapeutic than other crafts!

When you’re done with your canvas, frame it and display it in your home. This is a great way to add a touch of fun and elegance to any room!

Spills and Mixups

You’re bound to have an “Oh Sh*t” moment while diamond painting. It happens all the time and we have a few ways to handle it.

Luckily, diamond painting is easy to clean up and doesn’t have a lot of waste, so you can use it over and over again! Just make sure you don’t accidentally drop a diamond into the paint, as this will cause the color to run.

If you do happen to get a spill, grab a baby wipe and go over the affected area. This will remove the mess and keep your diamonds safe from contamination. diamond painting tiere
